SupplySide Food and Beverage Journal

SupplySide Food and Beverage Journal

Editorial art direction + visual storytelling for the food and beverage industry

4 YEARS ·30+ ISSUES · 2 REBRANDS · END-TO-END DESIGN

I lead the visual design of this digital magazine for the people developing what’s next in food and drink.

Cover concepts come out of a brainstorm between me, our content director and two editors, and the ideas get big and playful fast. Then I have a day or two to come up with options. Granola becomes sunglasses, a scientist pole-vaults a stack of snack bars, a can takes off like a rocket: every cover is one clear image built to land the headline at a glance.

One topic, three options

Three directions for an issue on sustainability and upcycled ingredients, concepted and built in two days. The bottle won: it ties the peel to a finished product and puts the recycling symbol at the center.

Rebrand: Food & Beverage Insider

BRAND IDENTITY · GUIDELINES · EDITORIAL SYSTEM

Before the publication became SupplySide Food & Beverage Journal, I led its first rebrand as Food & Beverage Insider. I built the visual identity from the ground up: color palette, typography, text accents, callouts and a custom icon set.
